Description
Located in Spain, this paragliding site offers an exhilarating experience with a launch height of 1200 meters and a height difference of 300 meters. It is frequently used for thermal soaring and offers good cross-country (XC) flying potential. The most commonly used launch is 'Rials'.
The site record is an impressive 587.7 km, and more information can be found at: https://Castejon de Sos. The launch is just a 10-minute walk from the village of Arasan.
The landing zone is 1.2 km away. The site is accessible all year round, although snow can make access difficult during winter. This is the second most popular launch after Liri. Without a breeze, flights are short, but with good conditions, you can soar back to Liri. The launch area is grassy and easy to manage. Landing back at the launch site is of medium difficulty. Be cautious as the breeze can become very strong around midday, and the site is not forgiving with crosswinds, making the launch dangerous.
From Castejón de Sos, it is a 4 km drive on an asphalt road. The path starts right in front of a small chapel and is an 8-minute flat walk.
