Description

Altitude: 1,760 meters Landing: 900 meters Elevation Difference: 860 meters Orientation: East Coordinates: 31T 289859E / 4714132N Distance to El Raso landing: 4.5 km Usage Dates: April to November (access difficult outside these dates due to snow) Takeoff: Grass, primarily used in the morning. By midday, the breeze causes the wind to come at a 90° angle to the slope, making takeoff challenging. The wind will be head-on with the breeze installed. Access: 5 minutes on foot, steep slope. Easy takeoff area accommodating about 2 paragliders. Landing Options: You can land in front of the hotel "La Casa del Río," but the usual landing spot is "El Raso." Note that it is far, and you need a glide ratio of 7.5 to reach it comfortably. Be cautious of the power line you need to fly over; the top cable is the thinnest and hardest to see. There are many alternative meadows if you can't reach the official landing. Wind Conditions: With a north wind, the flight can be turbulent and dangerous. It is advisable not to take off. Access from Castejón de Sos: 5 km of road and 7 km of track, in fair to poor condition. Access time is 35 minutes by 4x4 or van; not recommended for regular cars. 5 minutes on foot from the track. The start of the path is not signposted. The takeoff area has an aluminum windsock.
